Thursday Checking In

Good Morning Ladies,

I'm up, waiting for Trent.  Not sure when he's due to arrive.  I did my usual crazy thing with my car last night.  I try to back into the driveway, and garage, because my car has front wheel drive, Toyota Camry, and when it's snowy, or ice, I prefer to tackle that with the wheels that have control of the car first.  It's so much easier than back out into snow.  Well, it helps if I actually drive on the driveway when I back in.  I totally missed my driveway.  Yup, in the dark, I managed to get as far as my entire car off the road, on my yard.  Problem, it's stuck.  Yup, I got it stuck at the edge of my yard, off the road, in the snow.  So, my neighbor tried to help push me, but I'm really stuck.  We're hoping Trent can help as well.  I did tell you guys about how I managed to side swipe the entrance to my garage backing in the first time, getting white paint on my red car.  Yup.  That's me.  I was so used to driving a compact car, when I transitioned to a midsized, I didn't judge it properly in the beginning.  Well Trent just drove by, slowing down to look, and then kept going.  He said he had a dentist appointment, and wasn't sure he'd have time on the way.

The rest of the day should include a trip to the post office.  I tried to mail some important paperwork to my psychiatrist in PA.  Problem:  I had the wrong mailing address.  Well, it took more than two solid weeks for the paperwork to go to the post office in PA, and then back to me.  Now, I have to get it to the post office, to overnight it.  Then, he has to fill it out, and mail it to Harrisburg, by the 31st.  It's my retirement paperwork, to verify that I still qualify for disability retirement.

Well, I also have major work to do in this disaster area I call a house.  I still have boxes from Christmas to take down to the basement, and a bookshelf to bring in from the garage.  Plus, I'm making chicken parm to take to a family at church.  Sweet older couple, grandparents of our Interim Pastor.  Both have had heart issues.  I'm going light on the cheese, but I also need to scoot to the store to get salad fixing.  Forgot to do that in my running around.  If I get my car back on the road.  Yikes.

I saw that Vickie posted on Facebook that Butch's pain was under control.  That's a huge answer to prayer.

Must scoot.

Praying.

Trish

Trish that's why I won't drive in the snow anymore! If I did I'd have my Expedition buried!!!!! Back in the day living in Benton Harbor I'd have my LTD in the ditch many a time!!!! When it snows I'd have Carl drive!!!

I hope in three weeks when I go to Chicago the snow stays away!

Im flying! If I need the car I'll take my daughter to work and use the car. Her car is my old one.

Nothing else going in here in gloomy Florida! It's treating rain!!!

Hi Carla,

I put my Civic in a ditch, here in Michigan, because of snow, years before I moved here.  Major damage to my car.  I won't drive if it's snowing.  But, living here, I have to drive to go anywhere, when the snow stops.  The major roads are clear.  My road is a sheet of ice, so is my driveway.  I just backed onto my yard, and totally missed my driveway.  And, I did this sober.  Imagine if I drank still.

Good morning Carla....I don't love driving in the snow but I can handle it. Growing up in Minnesota you had to learn or stay home. I drove down to Iowa many times in white outs...talk about nerve racking. I remember one time coming back to Minnesota from Iowa, the roads were nothing but a tire lane in at least 2 inches of ice. You had to stay in the lane until the next stop.  We were bumper to bumper going 15 miles per hour. No one could pass or anything. The ruts were too deep and there wasn't anywhere to go anyway. This was on the interstate!! Nothing phases me in bad conditions anymore. My daddy trained all of us to drive in any kind of weather. Now that I don't drive, I can sit and watch everyone getting stuck and not have to do a thing.

I wouldn't want to drive around Chicago in snow and ice either!! Good thing you have Carl to take over and save the day!!!

Love and hugs to you....connie d

I almost forgot to mention:  Today is my five year anniversary without a drink.  God has totally delivered me from alcohol.  I am so grateful.  Five years ago, I was in a rehab, hating my life, and what I had done to it.  Today is a huge answer to prayer.

Hugs,

Trish

Afternoon OFF family...just a quick stop in right now for me...been working on the 2014 files all morning and finally have them done. If they are right I do not know and right now I do not care. I called the office and she was not in yet and has not returned my call. So I did what I think they wanted and that is it. I AM DONE!!!!!!!!! If its not right too bad!!!!!

No internet AGAIN for the office. Seems FRONTIER is doing some kind of work in the area and internet will be down for 2-3 hours. Well its long after 3 hours now and STILL NO INTERNET!!! So I came home and sitting here in HOT apartment and I can't breathe in here so I am going to go to the drug store pick up my script and see what else I can get into.

Mopped that dam floors again in the clubhouse. Seems nobody knows how to kick the slush off their feet!!! Just walk in and track it all over the place. The maid will clean it up. ********!!!!!!! Sorry. Just makes me mad that they have no common sense!!!!!!Bet they don't do that at home!!!!!!

OK I am out of here...OH...when I turned on my PC today ALL my fonts are VERY SMALL!!! I didn't touch anything to make them that way!!! How do I change them so I am not needing a magnifier??

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSS
